Polygon Paradise - Edge Functions



Bevel

Edges - Bevel
  • Select edges to bevel (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Bevel"
  • Select "Round off selected edges" (left mouse button)
  • Press the tab button and enter 0.2 for D
  • Press the space bar to deselect the faces and see the bevelled object (image 2, left)


Collapse

Edges - Collapse
  • Select edges to collapse (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Collapse"
  • Select "Delete edges, replacing them with vertices" (left mouse button)
  • The selected edges are replaced with vertcies (image 2, left)


Connect

Edges - Connect
  • Select atleast 2 edges to connect (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Connect"
  • Select "Connect vertices and return the new edge selected" (right mouse button)
  • The selected vertices will now be connected creating a new edge, with the new edge automatically selected (image 2, left)
  • When you select just 2 edges connections can also be diagonal.


Crease

Edges - Crease


Cut

Edges - Cut
  • Select edges to cut (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Cut"
  • Select "Cut into edges of equal length" (left mouse button)
  • A menu will appear with a number of choices.
  • Highlight "4" and select "Cut into 4 edges of equal length" (left mouse button)
  • The selected edges will now be cut into 4 edges of equal length, with the newly created vertices automatically selected (image 2, left)


Dissolve

Edges - Dissolve
  • Select edges to dissolve (image 1)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Dissolve"
  • Select "Eliminate selected edges and remove remaining isolated verts" (right mouse button)
  • Selected edges are now removed from the object (image 2)


Extrude

Edges - Extrude


Flatten

Edges - Flatten X

  • Select edges to flatten (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Flatten"
  • Select "Flatten to std. planes" (left mouse button)
  • A menu will appear. Highlight "X".
  • Select "Flatten to the X axis" (left mouse button)
  • The selected edges will now be flattened (image 2, left)

Edges - Flatten Y
  • Select edges to flatten (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Flatten"
  • Select "Flatten to std. planes" (left mouse button)
  • A menu will appear. Highlight "Y".
  • Select "Flatten to the Y axis" (left mouse button)
  • The selected edges will now be flattened (image 2, left)


Flow Connect

Edges - Flow Connect

  • Select edges to connect (image 1, left)
  • Press right mouse button to bring up the menu and highlight "Flow Connect"
  • Select "Connect edges with respect to the surrounding geometry" (left mouse button)
  • Selected edges will now be connected, creating a new edge which is automatically selected (image 2, left)

Scale Axis
